The thioglycolic acid is useful as depigmenting agent on skin spots of ferric origin which often occur during sclerotherapy or intravenous infusion or after post-traumatic and surgical therapies or aesthetical treatments (dermoabrasion, peeling etc).
The product efficacy is due to its capacity to solubilize the hemosiderin and to bond the iron ion using a single active ingredient (2-mercaptoacetic acid). Siderlink® is also useful on epidermal spots of melanine origin.
The use on the skin is generally well tolerated; but it is important to do an allergy test on the skin before the first application. Do not use if there is a skin intolerance. Avoid eyes and mucous membrane contact. If contact occurs immediately wash the affected area with tap water or bicarbonate solution at 5%. Do not ingest the product and keep it away from children.
Do not use the product on skin lesions (abrasions, excorations, burns, phlyctena), after sun exposure, during summer time, just after wax depilatory treatments.
